Jhelum Mosque Incident: 4 martyred, 21 injured

An accident occurred in the mosque of Kala Dev, a suburb of Jhelum. The wall of the mosque unfortunately collapsed due to heavy rain. In this tragic accident, three worshipers had embraced to death, and 21 were injured.
An atmosphere of sadness and grief prevailed in the area.

According to the details, a connecting wall fell during the Friday prayer in the Kala Dev Mosque Jhelum.

According to eyewitnesses, hundreds of worshipers were there to offer the Friday prayer where the administration placed a Tarpaulin to provide a smooth shadow and tied it to the adjacent walls with a rope. But the rainwater accumulated, due to which the tarpaulin became quite heavy. Meanwhile, the connected wall could not bear the weight of the cloth cover and suddenly collapsed on the worshippers.

After the fall of the connected wall, there was chaos in the mosque, and many worshipers had buried. Meanwhile, three worshipers had martyred, and 21 worshipers were injured. Seeing this situation, Rescue 1122 and other emergency services arrived at the spot. The bodies of the expired worshipers had shifted to the DHQ Hospital Jhelum, and the injured people there were provided first aid and sent to the hospital.

Hassan Jahangir S/O Jahangir, Muhammad Hammad S/O Muhammad Alam, and Zia S/O Riaz Ahmed are among the martyred worshipers in the accident.

The local media reported that hundreds of Devotees of Darbar Sultania come from far away to offer Friday prayers in the said mosque. It is necessary to make adequate arrangements for the safety of the people in the jam and crowded places. People report that the adjacent wall looked immensely weak and could not bear the weight of the cloth cover, due to which this tragic accident took place, unfortunately.

After this accident, an atmosphere of sadness and regret has seen throughout the Jhelum area.
